SpaceX has published a new video revealing tests of its recovery system of Crew Dragon. Recently the company has accomplished a test of parachutes for its Crew Dragon Spacecraft. The video includes coverage of a number of trials. It also contains parachutes flown from a cargo plane along with a great height balloon. The video also reveals a trial version of SpaceX Crew Dragon Capsule diving into the sky over the desert testing ground. At the time, it is rolling out the array containing multiple parachutes. In future missions or missions carrying astronauts to space, the company will use the set of parachutes to land the capsule softly on the Earth.
The Elon Musk company has been testing the parachute recovery system for Crew Dragon from many days. Before few months, the company carried out a test and failed in it. SpaceX conducted an advanced development test by making use of a metal sled instead of the original version of Crew Capsule. At the time, one of the four parachutes failed to reveal the separation capability of the overall system. Even more, the remaining parachutes did not function properly. As a result, a test coaster plunged back towards the ground more fast than predicted. Eventually, the test had resulted in massive damage.
The exclusive footage includes a demonstration of seven different tests. It even consists of the two, i.e., qualification and reliability tests. Now the Elon Musk company has achieved a crucial milestone. Still, it has not declared the news of its success. Yes, it is yet to confirm by the company that its parachute rescue system for Crew Dragon has gained approval for flight. Apart from the parachute test, SpaceX is also conducting a wide range of trials. On the other hand, SpaceX is not the only company striving to develop a parachute rescue system. Boeing is also working hard to achieve the goal. Although both companies are in rivalry under a commercial crew program of NASA, the American space agency.
